David Syme's first biographer wrote one of the first Mummy horror fiction novels

And the timing of its publication will surprise you

In this short promo video, I draw attention to David Syme’s first biographer Ambrose Pratt.

My book will be the sixth written about Syme, and Pratt’s bio on his mentor is generally considered a hagiography; but I am not so sure.

Syme would have instructed Pratt precisely on what was to be included in the book, and for this reason alone we can not dismiss it as PR.

The connection I am making in the video is but one of the curious stories I have uncovered in relation to the tomb and its famous owner. My book (and not the video) discusses why he may have written The Living Mummy so soon after Syme’s death. You can pre-order The King Of Melbourne [The Spiritual Life Of David Syme, His Newspaper: The Age, and the Legacy Of His Monumental Tomb] here.
